Parent-Daughter Tennis 2019
Last Sunday saw our annual Parent-Daughter tennis tournament and yet another fantastic turn out; the highest number on record in the Junior section with 20 couples, including our new recruit Mrs Young, three LIIIs and their parents and my first and final performance after years of running the tournament. There were 16 couples playing in the senior section, with reigning champions Maddy and Paolo in contention for the final time and a really nice mix of parents and staff pairing up with the girls.
As ever, there was an incredible amount of talent on the courts from both the girls and their parents and with many travelling from afar to play on this special occasion, we made sure they got plenty of tennis throughout the day. On every court, there was great energy, spirit and sportsmanship.
We are extremely grateful to the staff members and adults who step in to enable boarders to play. This is always such a wonderful community event, which we look forward to each year and it was rounded off with our Wimbledon tradition of strawberries and cream and this year an exclusive opportunity to ‘have a go’ at Archery with Miss Rees.
The results were as follows:
1st place Willa & Chris Madel
2nd place Marta Rossano & Mrs Boyer-Castle
3rd place Paula Gonzalez Torres & Mr Dalton
1st place Maddy & Paolo Manca
2nd place Emily Butt & Mr Hill
3rd place Bella & Alexandra Meyrick
