Hewarth Production of Bugsy Malone – Razmatazz Perfection!
Splurge guns, custard pies and children. What could possibly go wrong?
The Hewarth show was an absolute triumph, after weeks of rehearsals filled with singing, dancing and, most of all, laughing. Guests were treated to refreshments ahead of the performance in Mary Ward’s very own Speakeasy, before taking their seats for Alan Parker’s much-loved 1976 musical in the Drama Studio. The performance, made up of around 40 pupils from LIII to LIV, was full of energy with vocal strength, American accents, deadpan attitude and a whole lot of razzmatazz! The girls played their roles perfectly with excellent comedic timing and real professionalism. Directed by Mrs Cheadle and supported by Musical Director Dr Passmore, this was one of the most energetic St Mary’s performances of all time.
Mrs Cheadle said: “I am immensely proud of the Hewarth girls. A lot of work and effort went into this show, from many people. Thank you to everyone who made it such a success and, most importantly, so much fun. ‘You give a little love and it all comes back to you’.
